About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a People/HR professional who is passionate about people, thrives on building relationships and enjoys helping managers navigate people related challenges with confidence.

As a People Advisor, you will provide high-quality advice, guidance and support on a range of employee relations and people matters, helping leaders create positive, inclusive and high-performing teams. Working closely with our Senior People Advisor and People Partners, you will support managers with attendance, wellbeing, capability, conduct and wider employee relations matters, ensuring that our people practices are fair, consistent and aligned to our values.

This role provides a fantastic opportunity to broaden your People/HR experience across a large and diverse organisation while making a genuine difference to the people who support our children and young people every day.

What you'll be doing

You will:

  • Provide professional advice and guidance to leaders and managers on people policies, procedures and employment practices.

  • Support and manage a range of employee relations matters including attendance, wellbeing, disciplinary, grievance and capability cases.

  • Coach managers and help build confidence in people management practices.

  • Build strong and trusted relationships with leaders and colleagues across the Trust.

  • Support positive employee relations and champion early intervention approaches.

  • Produce workforce data, reports and management information that support informed decision-making.

  • Contribute to improvement projects, initiatives and activities that enhance the colleague experience.

  • Demonstrate and promote our values of We Empower, We Respect and We Care in everything you do.

About you

We are looking for someone who is approachable, collaborative and committed to delivering a high-quality people service.

You will have:

  • Experience working within an HR or People function.

  • Experience providing advice and guidance on People/HR policies, procedures and employment practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • A professional, resilient and solutions-focused approach.

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) or be working towards this qualification.

  • A commitment to confidentiality, integrity and professional standards.

Experience within education, the public sector, employee relations casework, workforce reporting or trade union engagement would be advantageous.

About Diverse Academies Trust

Founded in September 2011, Diverse Academies is a multi-academy trust consisting of 14 academies – six secondary, six primary and two special – across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

We have a shared sixth form centre facility in Hucknall, which is managed in partnership with the National Church of England Academy. Queen Elizabeth’s in Mansfield, is a faith academy under the Church of England and is rooted in a Christian ethos. The academy works in partnership with the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham to provide an education that is distinctively Christian, and is inclusive for students from all backgrounds, of the Christian faith, other faiths and no faith.

The Trust Board provides overall support and challenge to academies through the leadership and management and governance structures within the Diverse Academies.
