People Officer job summary
The University of Kent Academies Trust is seeking to appoint a People Officer to join its dedicated and professional People team.
This is a key operational role within the Trust, responsible for supporting the delivery of payroll, recruitment, HR systems administration and compliance processes. Working closely with the Senior People Officer, you will play an important role in ensuring payroll activity is processed accurately, recruitment campaigns are delivered effectively, employee records are maintained to a high standard, and statutory and safeguarding requirements are met.
You will coordinate recruitment activity from advertising through to onboarding, manage pre-employment and safer recruitment checks, maintain HR and payroll data, support payroll processing, and contribute to workforce reporting and HR casework administration.
This is a full-time role of 37 hours per week, term time plus two weeks, offered on a permanent basis. The role is based on-site five days per week.
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused individual with experience in HR, payroll, recruitment, finance, compliance or a similarly process-driven environment. Whilst training will be provided on Trust systems and procedures, this is not an entry-level administrative role. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of managing complex processes, handling sensitive information, maintaining accurate records and working to strict deadlines.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and ICT skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a busy team environment.
The successful applicant will be responsible and resilient, and in return will be coming to a multi-academy trust wide supportive learning environment, characterised by open management, and in the knowledge that they will enjoy the full support and care of the pragmatic (and down to earth) leadership team. We have a dynamic, innovative team of professional staff who want to make a difference to the lives, aspirations and opportunities of our young people. We would encourage applicants to visit the UKAT website to view the many employee benefits on offer https://www.universityofkentacademiestrust.org.uk/careers-with-ukat
