The School actively promotes diversity and inclusion across its community and our students come from a wide range of backgrounds: 40% of our students speak English as an additional language; 59% of our students come from backgrounds other than white British.

The School is looking for a self-employed cello and piano tutor to teach for two days per week. You would be teaching girls in Years 7 - 13 and girls and boys in Years 12 - 13.

Our teachers are highly regarded in the music world and perform regularly alongside their teaching.

About the role

The role will involve teaching students one-on-one in a range of styles. Experience of cello and piano tuition and a minimum of Grade 8 in both instruments is expected, as is experience of preparing students for their ABRSM exams, as well as GCSE and A Level performances. Whilst experience in teaching both instruments would be an advantage, being a cello specialist is essential. There is also the potential for leading an advanced string group - please detail if you have experience leading ensembles.

Hours

Initially 2 days’ teaching per week, ideally on Mondays and Tuesdays. The ideal candidate would be able to offer regularity of service and provide 30 lessons throughout the year, split across 3 terms as set by the School on a regular set day each week between 8am and 4pm.
