About the Post
Looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives? Look no further!
We're seeking a dynamic and passionate Brass Teacher to join our growing Music Department. The Grange school are fortunate enough to be one of only 30 schools in the country that are part of the MiSST programme (www.misst.org.uk for more info). The charity (patroned by Andrew Lloyd Webber) funds schools to buy classical instruments for every student in KS3. This gives young people an opportunity that they otherwise may not have had, to learn an instrument and also perform in high profile venues with other MiSST schools.
As a casual peripatetic teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the musical journeys of large numbers of students. Over the last 2 years, students have been learning violin and flute, we now need a dedicated brass teacher to work with Year 7 from September.
The Grange school is federated with Twynham school, where we're committed to providing world-class educational experiences together. In collaboration with Twynham, we're poised to deliver even greater opportunities for our students, supported by a richly resourced department that values music at its core.
What You'll Do
- Support the main class teacher in delivering the MiSST curriculum.
- Teach groups of students the technical skills required to play the trumpet (with a view to expand to other brass instruments longer term).
- Run a lunchtime brass group and support with The Grange school’s extra-curricular programme.
- Uphold our commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of every child, in line with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
What We Offer You
- A supportive and well-resourced department that treasures music education.
- The chance to work alongside exceptional students and their families.
- Membership of the Teachers Pension Scheme (on request)
- Convenient, free on-site parking.
- The opportunity to be part of Twynham Learning, a forward-thinking multi-academy trust.
- A picturesque coastal location, offering an inspiring work environment.
