Who we are looking for
- Qualified to Grade 8 (or equivalent) in at least one musical instrument
- Ability to play your instrument to a high level is essential; experience with other instruments in the family is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable commitment to raising attainment of all pupils regardless of needs
- Excellent understanding of both subject and general teaching pedagogy
- Up to date knowledge of styles of music relevant to instruments.
- Able to create and adapt musical arrangements in a variety of styles and genres.
- Experience of leading rehearsals and performances.
- Effective and systematic behaviour management.
- Be or demonstrate the potential to become an outstanding teacher.
- Genuine passion for and a belief in the potential of every student.
- Deep commitment to the academy mission of providing an excellent education to every student, regardless of background.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning and organisational skills.
- Resilient, motivated and committed to achieving excellence.

About our Academy
Humberston Academy is an oversubscribed academy located in an affluent area of North East Lincolnshire. Ofsted graded the school outstanding in ‘behaviour and attitudes’ and ‘personal development’. Humberston Academy achieved ‘World Class Schools’ status in December 2019 and re-accredited in 2022. Humberston Academy continues to deliver incredible opportunities to young people with a specific focus on STEM enrichment and favourable links to the apprenticeships industry as well as traditional route towards higher education.

About the role
As a music teacher in Humberston Academy, you will be key to our mission to provide every student, regardless of their background, a great musical education and help to provide them with the choice to study music to the highest level. You will deliver high-quality, rigorous lessons that drive achievement and inspire a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
This role will be a Casual hours on a Casual Contract.
