What skills and experience we're looking for

The Portsmouth Academy seeks to appoint a Peripatetic Music Teacher - Singing to join our team and inspire the next generation of musicians.

The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting our students to learn and advance their music skills at all levels across KS3 and 4. You will work closely with the Music Department to support students with a range of abilities bringing creativity and enthusiasm to your teaching.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider musical life of the academy through performances, enrichment and the wider extra-curricular programme.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Educated to degree level in Music or related subject
  • High level of skill and experience in vocal tuition across Key Stages 3 & 4
  • Experience of delivering 1-1 musical tuition
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Support the work of the department and the extra-curricular programme
  • Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our schools
