Are you an outstanding classroom practitioner who wants to take their first steps into middle leadership?

Cambridge Park Academy is looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated individual to fulfil this role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside middle and senior leaders in order to develop their leadership skills.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a highly effective classroom practitioner who is passionate about education and supports other staff to make continuous improvements to their practice
  • Have experience of teaching in a special school setting with their chosen phase
  • Have the ability to lead staff within a phase team to maintain high quality teaching and learning
  • Provide an excellent role model for pupils and for staff, by classroom practice that sets a standard for other teachers to emulate
  • Have high aspirations for all children rooted in the belief that every child has the potential to succeed
  • Be keen to develop and grow their leadership skills through the role
  • Have knowledge and understanding of effective behaviour management strategies and the ability to put these into practice
  • Be confident in establishing sound professional relationships with children, colleagues, parents and our community
  • Promote the vision, culture and ethos of the school
  • Have high expectations of everyone within the school community
  • Be committed to safeguarding and protecting children and young people.

Cambridge Park Academy is a 3-19 special school in Grimsby for pupils with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and complex learning needs. The school has places for 220 students from the North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire area and is Ofsted rated as ‘requires improvement’. The school places importance on preparing its students both academically and socially for life after school and provides a wide range of opportunities for young people to take part in sporting and cultural activities alongside their academic learning. The school became an academy in March 2013 and joined Humber Education Trust in April 2020.
