What skills and experience we're looking for
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate educator to join our team as a Phase Lead KS3This is a challenging but incredibly rewarding opportunity to support some of the most vulnerable students in the city of Portsmouth.
As part of this role, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of teachers, pupil support workers, and parents to ensure that every student receives an excellent and tailored education. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing engaging and effective curriculums.
- Assessing and improving lesson plans to maximise student outcomes.
- Introducing innovative teaching methods to keep students engaged and motivated.
- Providing guidance and support to fellow teachers and pupil support workers, helping them excel in their roles.
- Fostering a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where students feel safe, respected, and ready to learn.
- Teaching Requirement:You will have a teaching requirement (as discussed during the interview process) to further develop and support the students in your care.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a deep understanding of effective teaching practices and a strong leadership capability. The ability to mentor your colleagues and make a lasting impact on the educational processes at The Harbour School is essential. Building positive, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families is key to ensuring we create the best possible outcomes.
