Physical Education Technician job summary

We are looking to appoint a PE Technician to join our secondary team. The ideal candidate will be able to provide comprehensive PE Technician support across the Creative & Health Faculty to support high quality teaching and learning. We are looking for someone who is organised, flexible, reliable and a good team player. Previous school experience would be an advantage.

The position will involve:

  • To prepare, and assist in the preparation, of the Physical Education resources, display, equipment and computers for use by students.
  • To work with individuals and small groups on specific activities under the guidance of the Teacher and/or other lead person.
  • To motivate and support student(s) to remain on task and participate in a positive way.
  • Accompanying and supporting student(s) on outings from school as necessary.
  • To pass on information about students’ personal and educational needs to the Class Teacher and other staff as appropriate.
  • To contribute to team meetings and review meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Numeracy skills up to GCSE standard.
  • Experience of participating in sport through either playing, coaching, officiating, organising.
  • May be working towards relevant coaching qualifications such as, Level 1/Level 2 qualifications in specific sports.
  • May be working towards a qualified teaching qualification in Physical Education.
