We are looking for a Physics specialist who will enhance the STEM enrichment offer that we currently provide. Key objectives are:
• To coordinate the redevelopment and maintenance of our extra-curricular offering to provide students with opportunities of STEM clubs, competitions and visits. To include running a weekly or fortnightly extra-curricular STEM club.
• To create new partnerships and build on existing partnerships in order to raise the aspirations of our students through experiences.
• To work alongside the Director of Science and Senior Leaders to develop a coordinated approach across the Abingdon Science Partnership.
• To develop a STEM careers programme, which will embed careers information into our curriculum and provide students with further opportunities, including arranging talks from STEM professionals.
• To promote STEM qualifications and careers to underrepresented groups.

The Science Faculty at John Mason School is research informed and has developed a knowledge rich curriculum offer. The team are dedicated to the principle that, if taught well, all students can be academically successful. Leaders in the faculty work to ensure positive staff wellbeing and manageable workload.

The successful candidate will understand the principles of a knowledge rich curriculum and have an understanding of relevant areas of cognitive science.
