Physio Assistant job summary

Therapy related duties include:

Implement treatment programmes with appropriate patients

Liaise and order equipment from Community Equipment Service under guidance from a physiotherapist.

Be well presented, polite and courteous at all times.

Key result areas

To carry out treatments of appropriate patients as directed by the physiotherapist.

To support the smooth running of the therapy input to Redway School.

To maintain up to date data entry and documentation.

To achieve and maintain therapy competencies for the role.

Main duties and responsibilities

As part of a patient’s therapeutic care plan and under the supervision of a qualified therapist provide support with treatment programmes and support qualified therapists with home visits when necessary.
To be responsible for the safe and competent use of all appropriate equipment, checking equipment is safe for patient use and teaching staff, parents and carers to assemble & dismantle equipment efficiently.
To be professional and be accountable for all aspects of your own work, implementing therapy treatment plans as prescribed by the Therapists and to report treatment results
To work within a legal framework with patients who lack the capacity to consent to treatment.
To order, pick up and deliver equipment to patient’s homes as required.
Be able to motivate patients to comply with treatment where there are significant barriers to understanding,such as hearing / sight loss, cognitive impairment.
