Playworker job summary
To work as an effective member of our Before and After School Club team, delivering a high quality of care for the primary aged children Roebuck Academy. Through inclusive play you will create stimulating environments and use a positive approach to engage and support our children in play. Collaborating with colleagues to work together effectively and as a member of the wider school community, you are required to adhere to all our policies and procedures.

Job Purpose
To provide support and care for the children who attend wraparound care at Roebuck Academy.
To be part of a team providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children with appropriate play opportunities and planned activities.
Roles and Responsibility
To assist the club Manager as appropriate to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the club.
To promote an inclusive club which does not discriminate on the grounds of race, disability or culture.
To help ensure the arrival and departure of children is recorded and monitored.
To assist in ensuring the safety of all those children attending the club in the event of a fire/drill or other emergency.
To provide care and support for children who have additional needs.
To promote healthy eating and lifestyle.
To act in a responsible manner and role model at all times.
To be responsible with other team members, for ensuring that play materials and equipment are properly used, maintained and stored.
To ensure that our rooms are kept clean and tidy.
Knowledge, Experience & Training
Previous experience of providing care and activities within a childcare, play or educational environment.
Knowledge of child protection issues (child protection Level 1 training)
Willingness to attend relevant training.
Good Verbal skills.
To be flexible in order to adjust to the needs of the setting.
Extend a warm, calm and polite welcome to children and parents.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the needs of the children.
First Aid Certificate (willing to acquire certificate)
Food Hygiene (willing to acquire certificate)
Health and Safety
Please be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection; and report all concerns to an appropriate person.
