What skills and experience we're looking for

Playworker – After-School Club

We are seeking a confident, caring and enthusiastic Playworker to join our dedicated team and support our after-school club provision. This role is initially for 3 days per week (Weds-Fri), 3pm-5pm and offers a fantastic opportunity to work with lovely pupils in a beautiful rural setting, helping to create a safe and engaging environment where children can unwind, learn, and have fun after their school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the smooth running of the after-school club
  • Set up and tidy away play equipment and resources
  • Supervise and engage children in a variety of play activities
  • Promote positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to plan engaging activities
  • Making and serving snacks and drinks
  • Providing attentive support to children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children is essential
  • Ability to confidently engage with children and encourage positive interactions
  • A warm, approachable personality with a passion for play
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection
