What skills and experience we're looking for
The opportunity
This will require you to work and support learners with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning disabilities working alongside staff in our PMLD classes.
The successful candidate will:

What the school offers its staff
We are expanding and moving into a purpose-built school, with a specialist wing that is designed to enable our ‘Explorer’ classes as we move away from PMLD terminology. The wing consists of four bespoke classes with two that can be joined to form a larger learning suite. You will need to be an experienced teacher who can work closely with our Behaviour & Health Lead, Therapy Teams and Parents, and is able to advocate for our learners. You must have that special something that allows you to engage with our learners in creative and imaginative ways, be innovative and imaginative in providing meaningful learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom. We want you to make the ordinary extraordinary. Our older learners currently work towards Aim-Awards Accreditation which celebrates their different skills and abilities.

We are a specialist academy for children aged 3-19. Most learners are on the autistic spectrum and some have severe, complex, profound and multiple learning difficulties. We are based in Mansfield Woodhouse and currently have 113 pupils.
Our academy has a caring and supportive staff team who believe in every learner, and we work together to ensure our children achieve their very best.
