Portesham Primary School - Teaching Assistant 32.5 hours per week job summary

The First Federation Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of 29 primary schools, is seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for Portesham CE Primary School to work across the school to support teaching and learning across both key stages.

Portesham Primary School is set in the beautiful village of Portesham, close to the towns of Dorchester and Weymouth, with good transport links across both Dorset and Devon. The school provides a warm and nurturing learning environment with a family atmosphere which has excellent relationships with parents/carers and the local community. Experience of working with EAL pupils would be advantageous but not essential. This role is for 32.5 hours per week, term time only until 31st August 2025 initally.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individual with experience of phonics to work alongside the class teacher across all areas of the curriculum.

  • To deliver targeted interventions.
  • To promote inclusion through the development of social skills, language and emotional well-being.
  • To work under the direction of the class teacher and liaise with other professionals both within and outside the school
  • You will be expected to show a high degree of initiative and be able to react to given situations with integrity and compassion
