What skills and experience we're looking for
Do you have a profound belief in the power of reading and the managerial skills to transform a Learning Resource Centre into the vibrant, intellectual heart of the academy? Can you drive literacy standards, promote research skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading among students? The overall purpose of this post is to manage the effective running of the LRC, ensuring it is an attractive, effective, and accessible resource for use by students, staff and community programmes.
Outwood Post 16 Centre Worksop has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and inspirational Inclusion department, supporting our students in the Learning Resource centre. This rewarding position would suit someone working in a school with experience of supporting the learning of students; someone looking to further progress their career in an educational environment.
The role is permanent and you would be instrumental in supporting our amazing students, assisting them by creating a culture of success, ensuring they have a positive attitude to learning to increase their life chances, attainment and social and emotional development.
A key priority of the role is increasing the Literacy levels of our students, especially those who may face obstacles developing their literacy skills. This may include group work with students who may be disadvantaged within elements of their education. There is scope for creativity and themed events within the P16 Centre and interaction and support with all curriculum areas.
