What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an inspiring and dynamic Post 16 Teacher who is committed to develop the character, confidence and independence of our young people in sixth form and support them into pre- employment skills and work placements. We want a teacher who has passion, enthusiasm, alongside the skills and desire to develop and deliver an innovative curriculum adapted and modified to meet the needs, outcomes and aspirations of our young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the teaching and management of a class of Post 16 students
  • To follow and further develop the Skills for Working Life/Employability curriculum, for students ages 16-19
  • Manage a team who can support the students in pre-employment skills and work placements
  • Work with local business and industry to develop and Pre-Supported Internship programme
  • To manage financial and physical resources within Post 16 effectively to support the departments development plan

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a degree or equivalent qualification
  • Hold a recognised full teaching qualification such as QTS or be willing to undergo teacher training in line with the current regulations
  • A clear understanding of the features of high-quality teaching and learning and KS4 and Post 16
  • Commitment to safeguarding of all learners
