PPA Cover Teacher job summary

Irby Primary School is part of Oak Trees Multi Academy Trust, which consists of 13 schools on the Wirral Peninsula. Irby Primary School is a happy and successful one form entry school with enthusiastic, highly motivated, friendly and happy staff and children.

We are seeking an excellent classroom practitioner to join our team as a PPA Cover Teacher. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 1, 2, 3, and 4) on Monday and Tuesday afternoons

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ECT or main pay scale Teacher who enjoys variety and is passionate about delivering a creative curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned, high-quality lessons across Years 1, 2, 3, and 4 during teacher PPA time.
• Establish a purposeful, positive learning environment where all children feel safe, valued, and motivated.
• Adapt teaching styles quickly and effectively to suit the different age groups and learning needs within Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2.
• Maintain excellent classroom management and uphold the school's behaviour policy consistently.
• Provide constructive feedback to class teachers regarding pupil progress, engagement, and any notable achievements or concerns.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Is an ECT or currently on the main pay scale.
• Has a strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements for both KS1 and KS2.
• Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build quick rapport with pupils and staff.
• Is highly organised, flexible, and proactive.
