Practical Subjects (Art & Performing Arts) Technician job summary
We are looking for a technician to support the work of our Art and Performing Arts departments. You will be working alongside a motivated and successful team of people that are supporting young people in developing their skills and offering them a broad-based curriculum.
The role is offered based on working 17 hours per week for 39 weeks per year (school term time plus 1 week).
The purpose of the technician’s role is to work as a member of the Academy’s strong teaching teams being their support in delivering practical lessons. Our technicians are integral to the effective running of our classes. We need someone who can prepare resources, support students in the classroom and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

About you:
The successful candidate will be a confident communicator and someone who can demonstrate commitment, energy, and drive to join our team and work to provide positive learning experiences for all our students. IT skills would desirable as would the practical knowledge required for setting up sound and lighting systems and general workshop skills.
This is an important role to provide additional support to both staff and students across the key stages and will involve deployment to various departments in the Academy on an ‘as required’ basis. The role will involve meticulous organisation, a positive approach to learning and engagement in staff training to support outstanding practice. Health and Safety training in the area of work will be provided.
