Giffard Park Primary School is seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher with proven leadership qualities to join our Smart Steps Pre-School team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about Early Years, with strong leadership skills, to take Smart Steps Pre-School to the next stage of its development.

Key Responsibilities of this role are:

  • Provide high standards of quality care within the Pre-School including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
  • Observe, support and extend children's learning
  • Plan appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance
  • Maintain accurate and effective children's records
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members
  • Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion
  • Ensure that children are kept safe and follow Child Protection procedures
  • Work with area SEND, EYFS advisors, health professionals and other agencies as appropriate
  • Work with the EYFS Lead and other staff members to prepare children for school
  • Comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS or relevant statutory regulations
  • Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice

The successful candidate will:

  • Put children at the top of the agenda!
  • Have a passion for Early Years education
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching with experience of working with Early Years children in pre-schools or the Foundation Stage
  • Have good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills enabling them to work with the wider team and parents/carers effectively
  • Have strong commitment to raising achievement
  • Be able to excite, inspire and motivate children and staff
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and OFSTED requirements
  • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of all children
