Giffard Park Primary School is seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher with proven leadership qualities to join our Smart Steps Pre-School team.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Early Years, with strong leadership skills, to take Smart Steps Pre-School to the next stage of its development.
Key Responsibilities of this role are:
- Provide high standards of quality care within the Pre-School including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
- Observe, support and extend children's learning
- Plan appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance
- Maintain accurate and effective children's records
- Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members
- Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion
- Ensure that children are kept safe and follow Child Protection procedures
- Work with area SEND, EYFS advisors, health professionals and other agencies as appropriate
- Work with the EYFS Lead and other staff members to prepare children for school
- Comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS or relevant statutory regulations
- Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice
The successful candidate will:
- Put children at the top of the agenda!
- Have a passion for Early Years education
- Be able to demonstrate excellent teaching with experience of working with Early Years children in pre-schools or the Foundation Stage
- Have good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills enabling them to work with the wider team and parents/carers effectively
- Have strong commitment to raising achievement
- Be able to excite, inspire and motivate children and staff
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and OFSTED requirements
- Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of all children
