PRE Teacher (for exceptional candidate there is a potential for KS4 curriculum lead opportunity) job summary

Chiltern Hills Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious PRE / Religious Education Teacher with a great passion for teaching and learning. You will join a welcoming and highly experienced team.

We are looking for a committed classroom practitioner that will deliver new and innovative PRE to our young learners. Someone who has the ability to engage and encourage different types of learners and to work proactively as part of a team. Chiltern hills and our pupils are looking for a teacher with passion for their subject, drive and creativity.

Essential qualities:

  • Experience / Knowledge of PRE Religious studies, / Religious education curriculum for pupils at KS3 and KS4
  • Excellent class room practitioner
  • A commitment to raising standards

Chiltern Hills Academy is a Church of England, co-educational secondary school in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. There are circa 1025 students on the school roll, approximately 100 of whom study in the sixth form. Chiltern Hills Academy converted to academy status in 2011 and is jointly sponsored by the Diocese of Oxford and Buckinghamshire County Council.

We are situated in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire in the Chiltern Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated close to the M40 and the M25, Chesham is on the end of Metropolitan line of the London Underground and is 28 miles north-west of London. There is ample parking on-site. Renting here is cheaper than in central London and if you enjoy travelling, it takes about 40 minutes by car to Heathrow.

The Elgiva Theatre, Lowndes Park and an open-air heated swimming pool are just some of the many public amenities available in the town. Chesham is renowned for its community spirit and there are many recreational and community groups catering for the diverse and active population.
