- A supportive team structure that encourages collaboration and problem-solving.

As Premises Officer, you will help maintain and develop our school sites, ensuring they remain safe, secure and welcoming environments for pupils, staff and visitors.
Maintaining Our School Environments- Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and inspections across academy sites.

- Identifying maintenance issues and coordinating specialist support where required.
- Undertaking regular health and safety inspections and checks.
- Supporting compliance with statutory requirements, Trust policies and academy procedures.
- Responding promptly to hazards, defects and maintenance concerns.
- Managing site security, including opening and closing procedures where required.
- Liaising with contractors and monitoring work carried out on site.
- Maintaining accurate premises, compliance and maintenance records.
- Providing operational support for academy events, activities and lettings.
- Monitoring heating, lighting and building systems.
- Identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Helping create comfortable and effective learning environments for students and staff.
- Collaborating with academy staff, Trust colleagues and external contractors.
- Sharing best practice across schools and supporting colleagues within the regional premises team.
- Responding flexibly to the needs of both the local school cluster and the wider Trust.
- Supporting the academy's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
As part of our Trust family, you will not only contribute to the success of St John Houghton but also help support the wider mission of improving life chances for children and young people across our schools. You'll benefit from a supportive team culture, opportunities for professional development, and the satisfaction of seeing the direct impact your work has on pupils every day.
