What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a really important role in our school community.

The premises officer will work across our two primary school sites in Clapham/Battersea, sharing responsibilities with our experienced premises manager.

You will maintain clean, safe and secure school premises to ensure a good working and learning environment. This will involve handyperson activities, routine maintenance and minor repairs, porterage, driving, cleaning and tidying, carrying out health and safety checks, and monitoring the work of contractors and cleaning staff.

You must be friendly, flexible, professional and open to learning new skills.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A full clean driving licence
  • Experience of building maintenance and repairs (and basic DIY skills)
  • Experience of security, including alarm systems
  • Basic IT and computer skills
  • Reasonable fitness, to carry out the duties of the job (including some manual handling and lifting, using ladders etc)
  • The ability to plan, organise and prioritise your time
  • The ability to work co-operatively as part of a team, as well as independently when required
  • The ability to communicate well with children and adults.
