Preschool Deputy Lead job summary

Part time, permanent

Grade 6 35 hours, 50 weeks a year (term time + 12 weeks during school holidays)

£25,992 (FTE)

Working pattern:9:45-6pm Monday to Thursday and 9:30-4:30 on Friday (1 hour unpaid lunch break).

To support the delivery of high-quality care and early learning experiences within the preschool, ensuring children are safe, supported and engaged in meaningful learning aligned to the EYFS framework.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Organised and reliable, with strong attention to detail.
  • A good communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willing to learn and take on a variety of tasks.
  • Has experience of working with children.
  • Has a good level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Is patient, engaging, caring and creative.
  • Is able to work in a team.
  • Is be self-motivated.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promote safeguarding and follow Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) procedures
  • Support delivery of a high-quality, play-based curriculum.
  • Model high-quality interactions and teaching practice.
  • Support staff in planning, observation and assessment.
  • Support early identification of additional needs.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers.
  • Support transition arrangements into Reception.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Level 3 full and relevant Early Years qualification (DfE approved).
  • GCSE English and Maths Grade 4+ (or equivalent)
