What skills and experience we're looking for

Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy has an opportunity to welcome an Early Years Teaching Assistant into their team. This is to work in our preschool unit, you will work 28 hours per week but this is split between 24 hours as a Teaching Assistant level 2 and 4 hours as a Higher level Teaching Assistant.

You will be supporting Early Years children with their learning needs during their time in our preschool. You may work with children in small groups or on a one to one basis, depending on their individual needs, this will be supported and guided by the Class Teacher. Alongside this you will be supporting the children with their personal, social and emotional development, you will encourage sharing, turn taking and listening skills.

You will be a calm, caring and patient person who is dedicated to helping young children learn, grow and flourish.

The job requirements

You will have fantastic communication skills which will allow you to work closely and effectively with the children, parents and carers and the Early Years team.

You are able to multitask, help plan and deliver stimulating and interesting activities and be confident in playing with children and reading stories aloud.

Although experience of working with early years children would be an advantage it is not essential however you will have a good understanding of child development, Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding.
