Are you looking for that next step into a promoted role that offers you entry into the exciting and rewarding world of Teaching? Do you want the experience and exposure of teaching assigned year groups without the responsibility of your own class? This position may be of interest to those with experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA looking for promotion, those looking to solidify their experience prior to commencing a PGCE in the future, or even overseas trained Teachers looking to gain experience in the UK curriculum before taking on the responsibility of their own class. The position is to commence in September 2022.
The role is very rewarding and there is a high level of responsibility and although there is always a teacher close at hand if needed, there is a large amount of autonomy. The main purpose of this role is to oversee lessons for teachers who are scheduled for PPA Time. You will be expected to liaise with the teacher or Primary Pupil Progress Leader who will set the cover work for the lessons. Following Academy policies you will then supervise the class through the lesson providing support and encouragement as appropriate and dealing with issues as they arise.
It is essential that applicants hold a GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in English and Mathematics; current knowledge and understanding of the Primary National Curriculum; and demonstrable Classroom Management Skills.
