We are a small rural school on the edge of the village of Warcop, some five miles south of Appleby-in-Westmorland. In September 2026 we will have 95 children on roll. We were last inspected in November 2023 and the school continued to be judged as being “good”.  As a Church school we also have a SIAMS inspection – the last inspection graded the school as “good” with “outstanding” Christian values. We have wrap around care onsite as well as an independent nursery.
We currently have 4 classes in school, some mixed age. Candidates must be an excellent class teacher and be adaptable to work within a small and successful team.

We endeavour to foster a feeling of belonging amongst our children and that comes from the strong Christian ethos that runs throughout the school. Our children are taught to live and work together and to appreciate the values of honesty, loyalty, thoughtfulness and compassion in all that they do.

We see our school as a family and this is due in no small part to the unstinting support we have from parents and friends of the school who pull together to ensure that the school remains at the heart of our community.

We encourage our children to learn by fostering their creative, emotional and academic needs and giving them space within a structured environment to explore and develop their own talents. We take a rounded view of the children’s educational progress of which we believe test results are just a part and are proud that our children leave Warcop as well balanced, responsible and caring individuals

We are well resourced for ICT with alpha teach boards in each teaching area. We have a class sets of laptops and i-pads to deliver the computing curriculum.

Our educational standards are good and we are very pleased with our Ofsted report. But we are not complacent and we know there are areas where we can improve. Further information about the school can be found on our website at: www.warcopcofeschool.co.uk.
