Primary School Teacher job summary

Due to the upcoming maternity leave of our Reception Class Teacher, we are looking to appoint a teacher to cover maternity leave starting in January 2026. The role will be in EYFS so experience in this area is essential.

As a Primary School Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey and personal development of young learners during their formative years. This role requires a nurturing, creative, and adaptable educator who is passionate about fostering a love of learning in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

You will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, tailored to meet the diverse needs of your pupils. Through engaging lesson planning, effective classroom management, and continuous assessment, you will support each child’s academic progress, social development, and emotional well-being.

Collaboration is key in this role—you’ll work closely with teaching assistants, senior leaders, and parents to create a cohesive and supportive learning community. Whether you're introducing foundational literacy and numeracy skills or encouraging curiosity through hands-on learning, your impact will be lasting and meaningful.

Visits to school are welcomed and can be arranged by contacting the school office by phone 01388 603451 or email recruitment@stwilfrids.bhcet.org.uk
