This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to teach English and Maths to a smaller class of pupils who are working below the academic attainment of their peers. We are seeking a nurturing teacher with an excellent understanding of learning, expertise in supporting pupils with SEND needs and a strength in building effective relationships. We welcome applications from strong KS1 teachers as well as KS2 teachers as most of the learners will be working pre- key stage 2.

We are looking for someone with high expectations who can inspire and motivate vulnerable pupils to be the very best that they can be. If you have the skills, drive and enthusiasm this could be the perfect role for you!

Stafford Junior School is a 3 form entry school with lovely school buildings, fantastic grounds and a great team. Teachers plan and work closely together in a supportive environment. We are committed to developing the whole child and watching every pupil thrive and grow.

We are looking for

  • a teacher who will genuinely care about our children and who will take time to get to know them, nurture their individual talents, and is committed to supporting them, both personally and academically

  • an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations of children's learning and behaviour and with excellent understanding of learning

  • strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to foster good professional relationships very quickly with pupils, families and external partners

  • attention to detail combined with the ability to think differently to inspire children to learn, creating a classroom culture of enthusiasm, creativity and positivity - someone who will empower our wonderful pupils and celebrate their successes

  • a great sense of humour with a calm and positive outlook, together with integrity, determination and resilience - firm, fair and fun!

  • someone who will champion a sense of pride in our community

  • someone who loves teaching and empowering the pupils to succeed

We are offering you:

  • a genuine opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our wonderful pupils

  • teaching a small class for English and a small class for Maths, allowing more time with each pupil

  • no registration class, allowing time to liaise with colleagues and to work 1:1 with pupils to provide focused individual support during registration times and assemblies

  • high quality support and CPD to ensure you are successful

  • a commitment to staff wellbeing - developing empowered staff who feel valued and know that they make a difference

Our most recent OFSTED inspection confirmed that we are a good school with outstanding personal development, recognising that ‘the school has gone from strength to strength in recent years’ -

  • pupils enjoy their vibrant and inclusive school

  • the school provides pupils with a strong quality of education

  • there are clear and well-sequenced curriculums in place

  • pupils are keen to learn

  • teachers…confidently insist upon the highest standards of behaviour in classrooms and around the school, so that pupils can focus on their learning

  • the school have developed an exceptionally strong programme to support pupils’

personal, social and health education…pupils learn to self-regulate and develop their working memory, flexible thinking and self-control

  • pupils’ confidence in public speaking is highly evident

  • the school has a clear programme of professional development and support for teachers

  • teachers feel very well supported in their roles by senior leaders
