Principal job summary
Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is a leading, not-for-profit, multi-academy trust which has been sponsoring primary and secondary academies across the country since 2009. Our vision is to provide pupils with access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential.
We are looking for an experienced and high-calibre leader to join us as principal at Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy (OSCA), a popular, oversubscribed academy located in Tividale in the West Midlands. The overall purpose of the role is to drive the strategic development of the academy and, with the support of an experienced education director, to develop and sustain exceptional educational provision. The new principal will share our belief in the power of education to transform the educational and future life opportunities for young people. When we asked them, the students at OSCA told us that they believe that staff always have their best interests at heart and they are very proud of their academy.
What’s the best thing about working for OAT? That’s easy. The people. Whether it’s our diverse and characterful pupils or our committed staff who are driven by the purpose of our work, our people are truly amazing. At OAT, we believe there’s nothing more important than educating the next generation, and our teams across the organisation are dedicated to ensuring that the education we offer is the best it can be. When you join us at OAT, regardless of your role, you can be certain that your work will have purpose and meaning.
While you look after our students, we will take care of you. Wellbeing is at the core of our people strategy so we offer a range of practical and holistic measures to support your health and wellbeing, from private health insurance to retail discounts, with access to emotional support services and salary sacrifice schemes for cars and bicycles available to all OAT employees.
More information about this post and the role of senior leaders with the trust is available in the accompanying information packs. We would also encourage you to contact the education director, Natasha Rancins on 07971 531920 or by email to natasha.rancins@ormistonacademies.co.uk for an informal discussion about the role, and you can arrange to visit the academy by emailing Leanne James jamesl@ormistonsandwell.org.uk
Closing date for applications is Monday October2nd at 12pm (midday).
OAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and the expectation is that all staff will share this commitment. Therefore, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
