This is more than a change of name—it represents an exciting opportunity to shape the future of a school with ambition, purpose and a clear vision for excellence.

As part of the Southwell and Nottingham Multi Academy Trust, you will work closely with the CEO, Trust Board and Local Governing Body to provide strategic leadership that enables every child to flourish academically, spiritually and personally.

We are looking for a Principal who will:

  • Provide inspirational leadership rooted in strong Christian values.
  • Drive ambitious school improvement through high expectations and evidence-informed practice.
  • Champion exceptional teaching and learning so that every student achieves their full potential.
  • Create a culture where staff are empowered, supported and developed.
  • Place safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing at the heart of all decision-making.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, the parish church, the Diocese and the wider community.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and ambitious leader who:

  • Has a proven track record of raising standards and improving outcomes.
  • Is passionate about delivering an outstanding education for every child.
  • Can inspire confidence, foster collaboration and lead with integrity.
  • Shares our Christian vision and is committed to nurturing the whole child.

At Sherwood Church Academy, you will join a dedicated team committed to providing a broad, ambitious curriculum and an environment where every member of the school community is known, valued and encouraged to succeed.

If you are an inspirational leader ready to shape the future of Sherwood Church Academy, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed and encouraged.

Our vision is to create an environment that provides the best start to a bright future for all our students, by giving them all the opportunity to be fully qualified for adult life, in the fullest sense of the term.We realise this vision by offering a broad range of courses, to cater for as many interests and abilities as possible. We also work in partnership with other Mansfield schools to maximise opportunity. To broaden the educational experience we include Sport, Dance, Music and Drama in the curriculum. Not just for the select few, but for absolutely everyone. There are many different ways of defining achievement but ours is unusually holistic. Good qualifications are crucial to young people and their futures but we also know that other things are important to prepare young people for the challenges they face.

The Samworth Church Academy is a Global Member of the Round Square, a worldwide association of schools which share a commitment, beyond academic excellence to personal development, responsibility and international understanding through service, challenge and adventure.
