Progress Leader for English (Key Stage 3) job summary

Required from September 2021 or January 2022 The Joseph Whitaker School is a popular, oversubscribed school of 1300 students with attainment levels above the national average at both GCSE and post 16. We were inspected in March 2019 and the school was again judged as being “good”. It is worth reading the Ofsted letter as this gives a true flavour of our school. The Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and well-qualified English teacher to the position of Faculty Progress Leader for Key Stage 3. They will hold a key leadership position within the Faculty and will contribute significantly to making it outstanding, working closely with the Faculty Leader and the Key Stage 4 Faculty Progress Leader. The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. The Joseph Whitaker School is a popular 11-18 school, in Rainworth, a village just outside of Mansfield. It serves the three local villages of Blidworth, Rainworth and Ravenshead and has around 1300 students.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a well-qualified Key Stage 5 Teacher of Criminology, ideally with experience of teaching Psychology and/or Sociology A-level.
