Contract Type:      Part-time, 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum

Salary:                  LPT 4, £18,707- £20,033 per annum (Actual)

           £25,867- £27,701 (FTE)

 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Progress Mentor to join our supportive team at Kings College Guildford. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping young people thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role:

  • Supports the teacher with their responsibility for the development and education of children in schools
  • Provide 1-to-1 and small group academic interventions, both independently and in collaboration with teachers, to support student progress.
  • Assist with students’ personal needs (including hygiene and first aid) and contribute to their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Encourage inclusive learning by supporting all pupils’ access to activities and promoting interaction and independence.
  • Help implement educational programs, maintain classroom resources, and accompany students on trips and activities.

 

About you:

  • Holds GCSEs in English and Maths with good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain instructions and engage positively with pupils and colleagues.
  • Committed to promoting the welfare and inclusion of all students, understanding and responding to individual needs while fostering equality and diversity.
  • Works well as part of a team, understands their role within the classroom setting, and can follow instructions while also working independently when needed.
