Progression Administrator job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an experienced, cohesive team in a school that places a strong emphasis on personal development, wellbeing and collaboration.

The Athelstan Trust is a successful and growing Multi-Academy Trust consisting of six secondary schools and four primary schools in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and South Gloucestershire. We currently employ over 880 people and educate 6,100 pupils and plan to expand further over the coming years.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Headteacher and Careers Adviser to support the delivery of a comprehensive, engaging, and informative careers programme for students across the school.

The role will involve providing impartial careers education, information, advice, and guidance, working in partnership with local colleges, training providers, employers, and the school's Careers Adviser. The postholder will assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of careers-related activities and events, helping students to develop their understanding of the opportunities available to them.

A key aspect of the role is supporting students, parents, and carers to ensure that all Year 11 students are well informed, prepared, and confident in progressing to appropriate post-16 destinations. The successful candidate will also contribute to guiding Key Stage 3 students through the options process, helping them make informed and suitable choices for Key Stage 4.

This role may be combined with the Careers Adviser role or with other administrative responsibilities within the school, depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate and the needs of the school.
