Job overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Pupil Premium Attendance Officer to join our busy school attendance team. In this varied role, you will manage a caseload of pupil premium students and work with them, senior leaders in the school and their families to identify and remove barriers to attendance at school. Additionally you will identify and implement appropriate interventions for your caseload of students to help them attend school sustainably. You will also evaluate and report to senior leaders on the success of these interventions. Finally you will support the attendance team more broadly when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a targeted caseload of Pupil Premium students identified through attendance, behaviour and pastoral data. (Identify and address barriers/ provided structured 1:1 sessions)
Target students who are persistently absent or at risk of persistent absence, providing early intervention.
Complete regular attendance checks and follow-up for targeted students.
Support attendance meetings, reintegration meetings and individual action plans.
Monitor PP students experiencing repeated lesson removals, detentions, internal suspensions or suspensions.
Maintain a PP intervention tracker, recording actions, mentoring and outcomes.
Monitor impact through attendance, persistent absence, punctuality, behaviour points, removals and suspensions.
Recognise and celebrate improvements in attendance, behaviour, effort and engagement.
Provide regular impact reports to the Senior Leadership Team, demonstrating whether interventions are working.
Support the Attendance team more broadly where needed with administrative tasks
