We are seeking a friendly and professional Pupil Welfare Officer (PWO) to join our dedicated team. This vital role focuses on providing pastoral and welfare support to students, helping to improve attendance, behaviour, and engagement through the development of strong relationships and targeted interventions.Sir Frederick Gibberd College (SFG) is a growing and ambitious secondary school based in Harlow, Essex. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive pastoral support to students across all year groups
  • Monitor and support attendance, punctuality, and behaviour
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Assist with the implementation of safeguarding procedures
  • Work closely with the pastoral and SLT teams to ensure the well-being and personal development of students
  • Support the school’s inclusion and equality policies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic nature
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection (training provided if required)
