What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pupil Welfare Support Assistant to join our supportive SEN (Special Educational Needs) school team. This is a part-time role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting the emotional wellbeing, safety, and personal development of children and young people with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide welfare and pastoral support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
  • Support students’ emotional wellbeing, helping them to regulate behaviour and build resilience
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils feel safe, secure, and ready to learn
  • Assist with managing challenging behaviour in a calm and supportive manner
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support during unstructured times (e.g. break/lunch) as required
  • Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing monitoring in line with school policies
