Reading/English Teacher job summary
This post is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate.
We are Shaftesbury High School - a locally maintained secondary SEND school for 168 students. We are looking to appoint a Reading /English Teacher who will focus on supporting student reading across the school.
We are looking to appoint from September 2026 onwards.
Shaftesbury is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure and a Debarring check.
As the Reading/English teacher you will work closely with the two reading designated members of SLT and the Head of English. You will play a key role in shaping and developing reading at Shaftesbury High School as an experience that will be valued by students.
