Reading/English Teacher job summary

This post is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate.

We are Shaftesbury High School – a locally maintained secondary SEND school for 175 students. We are looking to appoint a Reading English Teacher who will focus on supporting student reading across the school.

We are looking to appoint from September onwards.

Shaftesbury is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child and young people and expects all staff and staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure and a Debarring check.

As the Reading/English teacher you will work closely with the Reading Lead and the Head of English and contribute to our continuing success. You will play a key role in shaping and developing reading at Shaftesbury High School as an experience to be loved by students. The position will require some teaching in other curriculum areas.
