What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in an Early Years setting (preferable but not essential for ECTs)
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
  • A nurturing and patient approach with excellent classroom management skills
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for early years education
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

We are seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and committed Reception Class Teacher to join our welcoming and supportive school community. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality early years education and making a lasting impact on children at the very start of their learning journey.

You will be responsible for creating a stimulating, safe, and engaging learning environment that supports the development of all pupils in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum
  • Create a warm and inclusive classroom environment that supports children’s social, emotional, and academic development
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, maintaining accurate records
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and leadership
  • Build positive relationships with parents/carers and communicate effectively about pupil progress
  • Support the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils at all times
  • Contribute to wider school life, including events and enrichment activities
