Nansen Primary School is looking to appoint a receptionist to join our admin team. The school is part of Leigh Trust.

We are looking for an employee with admin experience, preferably within a school admin team.

Main requirements / responsibilities of the role:

Reception and admin duties

Excellent verbal and written English skills (these will be tested at interview)

A positive attitude and effective communication skills

The ability to work accurately to tight deadlines

A commitment to ensuring confidentiality

Ability to prioritise, multi task and work as part of a team

Data entry, letter writing and filing

Designing posters for events, workshops and school activities

Creating and distributing the school’s fortnightly newsletter

Providing reception and switchboard support to the school

Providing clerical support to the school’s administrative function

Receiving, signing in and dealing with or directing pupils, parents and other school visitors as appropriate

General clerical support to the admin team and teachers

Establishing contacts with a variety of outside suppliers of goods or services.

Assistance in collecting and reconciling school monies and providing statistical information as required; administering free school meals and milk in schools scheme

Assistance in for administering schools admissions procedures and accurately maintaining the pupil related information system

Liaising with staff for organising school visits, camps and extra-curricular activities

Taking telephone calls and delivering messages as appropriate

Dealing with pupils who are late, recording on MIS and relaying information to Attendance Officer

To ensure all tasks are carried out with due regard to Health and Safety

Receiving and sorting incoming mail for delivery to appropriate staff.

Occasional routine word processing, as and when required

To undertake appropriate professional development including adhering to the principle of performance management

Any other duties as commensurate within the grade in order to ensure the smooth running of the school.
