Receptionist/Administrative Assistant job summary

  • Hours of work: 30hrs per week
  • Working pattern: To be discussed at interview
  • Weeks worked: This is a full year position, including school holidays

This is a key front-facing role, providing an efficient reception and administrative service that supports the smooth day-to-day operation of the academy.

As the first point of contact for visitors, parents, students and colleagues, you will play an important role in creating a positive and professional impression of the academy while delivering excellent administrative support.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide a professional and friendly reception service to visitors, parents, staff and students.
  • Manage incoming telephone calls, emails and enquiries, ensuring they are dealt with promptly and effectively.
  • Undertake a range of administrative duties including filing, data entry, correspondence and maintaining records.
  • Support academy events, meetings and communications as required.
  • Assist with student attendance, admissions and general office processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with academy procedures and data protection requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider administrative and operational functions of the academy.
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in an administrative, reception or customer service environment.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is well organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Has good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
