What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist. As Receptionist you will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors, ensuring a warm welcome and maintaining the safe, smooth running of the centre. Working closely with the administration team and under the direction of the Office Manager, you will provide efficient and confidential administrative support, maintain accurate records, and help create a professional, inclusive, and supportive environment where pupils can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors and phone calls, coordinating safe entrances and exits for pupils, staff, and visitors while following safeguarding procedures.

  • Provide general administrative support, including filing, photocopying, data entry, producing reports, and maintaining school management systems (e.g., Arbor).

  • Assist parents and carers with school systems, including cashless payments, and support pupil-related administration as needed.

  • Support the Administrator with diary management, meeting arrangements, and preparation of documents and correspondence.

  • Maintain office resources and supplies, manage stock, and liaise with staff, governors, parents, and external agencies to ensure smooth communication and operation.

Key Requirements:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, grade 4/C or above.

  • Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, and school management systems (e.g., Arbor).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies.

  • Experience of providing administrative or reception support in a school or similar environment.

  • Experience of managing incoming calls, reception duties, and interacting with pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
