What skills and experience we're looking for

A highly organised, efficient, proactive and well-presented Receptionist/Administrator is required to oversee the smooth and effective day to day running of our busy school office and be the welcoming face to parents, children, governors, staff and visitors. Honesty, integrity and confidentiality are essential qualities for this role, which would suit someone who enjoys a mix of routine and ad hoc tasks.

Reporting to the Admin Manager, the post holder will provide a front-line Reception service for all callers and enquiries as well as providing administrative support in numerous areas, ensuring the school maintains a positive image at all times.

A professional, ‘can do’ individual is required who is hard working, capable and experienced at working under pressure, an unflappable team player with excellent interpersonal skills. The School Office can be a very busy environment with numerous interruptions throughout the day, therefore this post would suit someone with a calm, methodical approach, excellent organisation skills, the ability to juggle tasks and a good sense of humour…as any two days are rarely the same!

Strong administrative experience (preferably in a school environment), a willingness to undertake training where required and the ability to prioritise are essential.

What the school offers its staff

  • A welcoming staff in a warm, friendly working environment that values everyone’s wellbeing
  • Well behaved, well-mannered children who love coming to school and who are engaged within a creative curriculum, which encourages pupil voice
  • An extremely well-resourced and organised school ensuring teachers and children have access to the latest modern technology
  • A commitment to supporting and coaching staff to allow them to reach their full potential
  • A school that understands and values its staff and provides excellent career progression opportunities

Commitment to safeguarding

STOKENCHURCH Primary School and Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. All staff employed in the school must undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The school will conduct an online search when shortlisting as a part of our safer recruitment process. We value diversity and inclusivity, creating a welcoming workplace for all.
