Receptionist and activities co-ordinator job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at West Lodge Primary School for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic Receptionist/Activities Coordinator to join our friendly and highly experienced office team.

West Lodge Primary School is a welcoming, caring and high achieving three form entry school, with a specialist provision for pupils on the autistic spectrum, located in the heart of the vibrant community of Pinner. We have 640 pupils on roll and the school has an excellent reputation within the local community.

As the first point of contact for visitors and callers to the school, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a busy and demanding environment in a friendly, composed, flexible and helpful manner. The role involves:

  • Greeting parents and other visitors who arrive at the school
  • Answering the telephone and responding to queries
  • Monitoring the school's email inbox and responding to queries
  • Booking trips and other activities in conjuncytion with teaching staff
  • Adminstering the school's breakfast and after school clubs including setting up payments, communicating with parents, taking bookings and creating registers
  • Liasing with external club providers

You will work Monday to Friday, 8.30-4.00, term time plus 2 weeks in ther school holidays (41 weeks in total). Job shares may be considered.

The successful candidate should: -

Have excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills

Have excellent ICT skills, including Microsoft packages such as excel, word and publisher. Knowledge of school information systems in particular Arbor is an advantage

Be willing to learn and update skills and knowledge

Maintain confidentiality at all times and enjoy working in a child friendly environment
