Receptionist at OBA Satellite Provision at Avondale Park Primary School job summary

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more.

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist to make a real difference and join a dedicated and supportive team within our values-led academy.

As the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and external agencies, you will play a vital role in ensuring our satellite provision is welcoming and professional at all times. You will manage the front desk, answer calls, and support the smooth running of day-to-day administrative operations. By providing efficient and friendly support to staff, pupils, and visitors, you will contribute to the positive and inclusive culture that makes our satellite provision unique.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and assisting visitors in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • Managing telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Supporting staff with administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the school.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting communication with parents and external partners.
  • Ensuring the reception area reflects the welcoming and caring ethos of the academy.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who is highly organised, personable, and committed to supporting our community.

Located in North Kensington, our satellite provision at Avondale Park Primary provides a caring environment based on integrity, mutual respect, and understanding. It seeks to reignite passion in education and aspiration. Each learner is treated as an individual and is supported to develop within an environment that fosters a love of learning and the social and emotional skills needed for life beyond education.

We are a small provision for primary learners. Our students are at risk of, or have been excluded from, mainstream settings. We serve the Westminster borough and believe that success for our young people comes from our specialist approach: developing every young person’s potential for employability, building safe and healthy relationships, making positive life choices, and realising their aspirations.

Our approach considers our young people’s educational experiences to date, their social-emotional and mental health, their family circumstances, and their special educational needs (SEN). We work closely with professionals, families, and practitioners to affect positive change in our young people’s lives. We are proud of the caring, supportive, and inclusive environment we provide for our community.

“Pupils enjoy coming to Ormiston Academies. Staff work closely with pupils. They find out about their needs and the barriers to learning they may have had at their previous schools. Pupils said that they know the staff cares about them and their well-being.”
Ofsted, September 2021
