Receptionist job summary

Salary: BG4, N2-N3 FTE £23,656 - £24,027

Hours: Full time and Part time options available, please indicate preference in your application.

Fulltime 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, Term Time only. (Actual Salary £20,966-£21,295)

Part time 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 12pm or 12pm to 4pm, Term Time only. (Actual Salary £11,182-£11,357)

The successful candidate will work across our receptions in primary and secondary, providing a first class customer service to our school community. You will need to be a good listener, have exceptional communication skills and remain calm and professional at all times. This is a fast paced environment where no two days are the same. Experience in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential. Good organisational and communication skills are essential. You must also have a good standard of IT and customer service skills.

Campus Receptionist Duties

  • To provide a welcoming first point of contact, reception and telephone service for staff, parents and the wider school community
  • Undertake reception duties, answering general telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors/students
  • Be responsible for maintaining and developing the reception area, ensuring the visual displays best promote and communicate the activities and ethos of the campus
  • Deal with routine reception/visitor matters
  • Responsible for following safeguarding procedures when allowing access to visitors and denying access where appropriate
  • Provide basic administrative support e.g. photocopying, filing, faxing, complete standard forms, respond to routine correspondence
  • Enter and retrieve data relating to students on Arbor and other software packages as directed.
  • Monitor and maintain the signing in systems.
  • Distribution of mail both electronic and postal.
  • Be responsible for maintaining the Emergency Evacuation iPads and staff registers on Reception.

Fluency Duty

The ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents and other users of the service and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
