Receptionist (fixed-term)

Contract: Full-time, fixed term (until end of Dec 25 possibly up to April 2026)

Hours: 37 hours per week, term-time only, Monday - Thursday, 08:00-16:00 and Friday 08:00-15:30 (all days with 30-minute unpaid break)

Actual salary: £20,903 per annum (based on full-time and full year equivalent £24,404)

About our Role

Required as soon as possible, we are looking for a welcoming Receptionist to front our busy school reception until end of December 2025, potentially could be extended up to April 2026.

Duties will include:

  • greeting all visitors in a professional and friendly manner within a busy reception environment

  • handling enquiries both in person and over the phone, ensuring a welcoming and helpful approach

  • ensuring the safety of employees and students by managing access to the school through our access control systems

  • maintaining the visitor sign-in and sign-out process, always ensuring compliance

  • franking, sorting and distributing mail and parcels around the school

  • providing administrative cover across the school as required

About You

To be a great fit for this role, you will ideally have

  • proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and an excellent telephone etiquette

  • the ability to work independently and manage your time effectively

  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
