Regional Estates Manager (Glossop) job summary

Regional Estates Manager

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Due to the nature of the role certain tasks may need to be undertaken out of hours and at weekends. A certain level of flexibility is required.

Contract type: Full-time, permanent

Location: Glossop Region. The postholder will be required to work closely with Trust Academies and will be based at different Academies throughout the week but will be required to work over multiple sites within regional areas of the Trust.

Grade: Band 5, SCP 19 - 24

Salary: £31,067 - £34,314

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Regional Estates Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of school estates across the Glossop region. The schools within the Glossop region are:

About the Role:

As Regional Estates Manager, you will oversee all aspects of estates and facilities management for a portfolio of both primary and secondary academies. Working closely with Headteachers, site teams and central Trust leadership, you will ensure our schools are compliant, safe and well-presented, supporting the best outcomes for all our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire, lead and support a team of Regional Facilities Leads, Premises Officers and Apprentices, fostering a collaborative and solutions-focused culture.
  • Work closely with school leaders, staff and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver a responsive, high-quality estates service.
  • Collaborate with other Regional Estates Managers and the Senior Regional Estates Manager to ensure consistency across the Trust.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, statutory requirements and Trust policies.
  • Manage regional estates budgets responsibly, ensuring that spending aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Promote cost effective and sustainable estate management, reducing external costs by building in-house expertise and leveraging the skills within the team.
  • Develop a regional estates strategy that balances operational needs with long-term sustainability.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in estates or facilities management, ideally within the education sector or a similarly complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and estates compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience in mentoring, coaching and developing teams.
  • A strong team player and collaborative leader with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.

St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, Roman Catholic secondary school situated in the thriving town of Glossop, Derbyshire. It is part of the newly formed Catholic Multi Academy Trust; St Ralph Sherwin.

The school is has good commuter links to Stockport, Macclesfield and Manchester by car and rail.

A smaller than average secondary school, St Philip Howard currently has 480 pupils on roll and is growing rapidly. St Philip Howard is on a journey to outstanding and since the Academy opened in September 2015 has gone from strength to strength. The recent Inspections which took place in 2018 have confirmed this.

Ofsted inspected the Academy in January 2018. Inspectors acknowledged the hard work and commitment of the Senior Leadership Team, Staff and Governors.
