Remove Room Manager job summary
Birley Academy is seeking an exceptional Remove Room Manager to lead and develop a highly effective Referral Centre that supports pupils to reflect, take responsibility, and successfully reintegrate into lessons. This is a pivotal role within the academy’s behaviour and inclusion strategy, with a direct impact on school culture, pupil outcomes, and the day‑to‑day learning environment.
You will have overall responsibility for the daily operation of the Remove Room, ensuring it is calm, structured and purposeful. You will uphold the highest expectations for behaviour, conduct and engagement, while supporting pupils—particularly those with complex needs—to make positive choices and rebuild their approach to learning.

The successful candidate will:
- Be a highly skilled behaviour practitioner with proven experience of managing and leading behaviour and providing a positive learning culture.
- Demonstrate outstanding behaviour management and inclusive practice.
- Build strong, professional relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external partners.
- Show exceptional organisational skills with the ability to implement efficient systems, analyse patterns and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Be proactive, reflective and solution focused to maintain high standards under pressure.
- Embrace the academy values' and model them consistently by showing a high commitment to safeguarding, equality and the Trust’s values of Lead, Empower, Achieve and Drive.
